The Red Cross works in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Partial funding is provided by a grant from the Ohio Department of Health to provide Risk Reduction HIV/AIDS Programs.
People who think they are at risk of HIV infection are encouraged to seek individual counseling and testing by calling Planned Parenthood 330-456-5329, Canton City Health Department 330-489-3322 or the Alliance Department of Public Health 330-821-7373. DO NOT donate blood to get tested for HIV.
The mission of the Stark Regional HIV Prevention and Education Planning Advisory Group (RAG) is to develop a comprehensive HIV prevention plan for the Greater Stark County region and coordinate implementation with Canton City Health Department and Ohio Department of Health. The RAG is comprised of HIV/AIDS educators, service providers, community members, and persons living with HIV/AIDS. It is the intent of the RAG that membership, to the extent possible, have the skills and knowledge for input and active participation, reflect the values, norms, and behaviors of the community they are representing, and be able to objectively prioritize prevention needs for the Stark region.The Stark Regional HIV Prevention and Education Planning Advisory Group is open to the public and meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 5:30.
