Emergency Services

International Services

The American Red Cross, as a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, provides assistance to families separated by war, internal conflict, disaster, or changing world events.

Based on the needs of the world's most vulnerable people and the organization's responsibility and capacity to provide humanitarian assistance, Central Stark County's Internations Services include:

  • Tracing/Location Services
  • Red Cross messages
  • Health & Welfare Inquiries
  • Disaster Welfare Inquiries
  • Family Reunification
  • Information & Referrals

The Red Cross is also a major provider of tracing for Holocaust Survivors. This service has been part of the American Red Cross for over 10 years and a request for service can be made in the Emergency Services Department.

In addition to working to meet the standard of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent, International Services locally maintains translators for various language challenges that arise. International Services also is working with other agencies that provide assistance to refugees or those from another country living in Stark County. The International Services Network is expected to debut in May, 2001.
